Information

Our Blue Tee Wannabe's (aka BTWB's) league was established in 2002. This document discusses the league rules and information. --Andy Wittig

Rules

  • Each Team will have 2 players, the lower handicapped player will be the 'A', and the higher handicapped player will be the 'B' player. This could change throughout the season as handicaps change.
  • Matches are played A-A and B-B, and we play each team at least one time. We play match points based on your net score (actual score less a pop if you get it on a hole). Each hole is worth a point. If you tie a hole with your match opponent, you will each get a 1/2 point. Having the low net in the match will earn you an extra point. Therefore, there are 10 points available for each match.
  • Handicaps will be determined by a rolling average of the last 5 scores posted. (If we have less than 5 scores in, we will use the most we can). We use the course slope and rating to calculate 9 hole handicaps.
  • If the Player doesn't have a handicap, we'll back into their handicap based on that night's score and will only give 75% of the handicap.
  • For the handicap calculation, the most strokes that can be taken is a triple bogey. For carding your scores, still post what you had as an actual score.
  • If you can't make it for a week, you'll need to get a sub for your match. We have a list of willing subs, or you can get a friend to play. Since you have pre-paid for the season, the round is either 'on you', or you can have the sub reimburse you. That's between you and your sub.
  • If you have a Sub playing for you, all points they earn will be counted towards your team total. If they have a handicap, that will be used. If no handicap is available, we will use that day's round to back into a handicap for the points calculation.
  • There are no makeup rounds. If you are a no-show and do not line up a sub for your match, your match opponent will play a match where we will use your highest score for the season as your hole-by-hole scores. The idea is that we don't want to just give a free 10 points for a match that isn't played, your opponent still have to play for their points. Your team will receive zero points for your match.
  • Rainchecks for no-shows will go back into the league for prizes.
  • If anyone has prizes, give-aways, gift certificates for food or services, think about donating them to the league for weekly Proxy prizes like longest drive or closest to the Pin. Let me know if you have something. I'm open to your ideas.
  • We have a set number of weeks contracted to Chaska for our league. For the last couple of weeks on the schedule, I will not yet schedule matches out. We'll keep some open dates available for rainouts. If a night is rained out, we will move all of the matches scheduled for that night to the end of the season. As the season progresses, I'll schedule matches to fill those open slots.
  • For the Memorial Day and 4th of July Holidays, we will not have scheduled matches. Instead, you can call and make teetimes and play in our slots. These 2 dates are not prepaid, so we will all just pay for our own rounds those nights.
  • This website will be updated weekly after the Monday rounds on Tuesday sometime, with the current league standings. A copy of the schedule, contacts, subs, and weekly standings posted the league night. Cards will be printed for each match with your names, match opponent, handicaps, and the holes you get pops on. The first guy in each 4some can pick it up from the front desk as you check in. Turn them into Andy after the round.
  • Andy's team is the first group off each night so he can pay for all of the rounds and set the Proxy markers on the holes (if applicable that week). Make sure to check in with the front desk before the round so they can mark your name off the list as to played.
  • We'll have Proxies from time to time during the season. If we have one for the week being played, that info will be printed on the cards. We'll do things like Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, Longest Putt, etc. Again, donate prizes, gift certificates, drink certificates, etc. if you have those types of things at your disposal.
  • We will have the "Lift Clean and Place" rule in affect only through the month of May. If you need to do the L-C-P rule, your lie must keep consistent with being in the rough, sand, or fairway of your ball location. After May 31st, we all play the ball where it lies unless your match opponent suggests to you that you move it. It's not up to you, but it's up to your opponent, whether or not you can move the ball.
  • If you have a lost ball, you should take a stroke penalty, and hit from the line it went out of bounds, or lost. Do not walk back to the teebox to hit another shot.
  • Everyone is in the skins game. Any birdie, eagle, or double-eagle qualifies for a skin. If you are the only player with the lowest sub-par score for the hole, you will receive a skin. The $$ for that week will be divided among the skin winners. If we have a week where there are no skin payouts, that $$ will carry over to the next week.
