Congats to Rick Natrop for winning both proxies this week. He had the Long Putt on #13 and the Closest to the Pin in 2 on #18. The pin on #13 was in the toughest spot on the green, in the middle, on the crown. Rick dropped a downhill 45 footer from the back of the green. His 2nd shot on #18 was to about 5 feet. None of the 1st three groups were on the green in regulation. No payouts this week for Low Gross or Low Net since we had ties.
We had some gale force, 3-club winds tonight. Dispite the winds, there were a ton of birdies, 5 of which standing up for skins. We also had 4 sub-40 rounds, which is incredible.
I found a tip that I wanted to pass along. The proper way to throw a club. Check it out.
We had a great suggestion from Milhaupt regarding the team numbering for next year. I've always tried to base it on seniority in the league, but this is how it will work next year: Based on your standings this year, that will be your new team number for the 2010 season. The Commissioner's team will always be Team #1 since he needs to pay for the rounds, get the cards to the clubhouse, and set the proxy markers. We'll then fill in the spots down from there. Any new teams will come in at the bottom team Numbers. Our software schedules the matches, so the teams march up/down through the tee-times as always. No more complaints of "always starting in the last spots at the beginning of the season". Your times are how they shake out. Fight for those top numbers.
Question of the Day #1: Any free drop on #15 if I hit it in the concrete ditch? Answer: Yep, you do.
