News for 8/2/2010

Notice the Pink golf ball at the top of the page which shows results from last week's side event. I also added a little more content to the Eagles Nest page too.

I also scheduled out the week of 8/16. As always, we start from the top of the schedule for the extra weeks. In the event we have a rainout these next 2 weeks, we'll move the matches out to 8/16.

Please try to pick up the pace this week. I've been getting complaints consistently the past 3 weeks. Play ready golf and try to keep up with the group in front of you. Here are some tips:
  • Establish a quick and repeatable pre-shot routine
  • Plan your shot as you walk or ride to your ball, not when you get to it.
  • Leave your cart or clubs on the side of the green towards the next tee box.
  • Play a provisional ball if you think your first ball is out of bounds.
  • Don't pace off every distance; develop an eye or feel for distances.
  • When riding, take a few clubs with you when you are around the green so you don't have to go back to the cart.
  • Line up your putt when others are putting.
  • Most importantly, play ready golf. If the person farthest out isn't ready, someone else should play.
