Blue Tee Wannabe's 2010 - Monday Nights Chaska Results 6/7/2010

Congrats to Joe "Boom Boom" Sargent for his Long Drive on #15. His second shot was in a gnarly tree by the trap (thank God he's a lefty), next shot on the green, then made the putt for the birdie (and skin). Jim Griffen took the Long Putt on #18 with a sweet 16 foot putt.

The skins were pretty ones tonight. Pat Szymik chipped it in from the fringe on #17 and Shawn Job chipped in a downhill bender on #12 from about 25 feet off the green. No payouts for Low Gross but Andy Wittig took Low Net with his net 31.

Team Viotto edged out Barnes/Junck to take over first place in the standings.

Our captain of the 2010 BTWB's Ryder Cup team is Brian Long. We're starting to put together the details for the 5th annual Ryder Cup competition against The Sod Busters. More details to follow, but here's a high level look at what it's all about. It is a ton of fun so please put it on your schedule in ink if this is something that interests you:

It's scheduled for Saturday, September 11th, 2010 with a morning start time around 8am.
We'll try to get it set for Mascoutin.
It's 27 holes of golf with 3 formats. Probably: 2 Man Scramble, 2 Man Best Ball, Individual Matches.
Highly competitive.
Probably around $60 which includes 27 holes and cart.
How Handicaps and Tees play into it will be determined at a later date.
Based on the interest, the top bananas of each league will be invited to play in the matches. Generally it's about 10-14 guys on each team. More can play as back-burners (not in the matches, but still play that day) and be on the waiting list. The cut is based on the index rankings at the end of the season.
Based on who's in the cut, Brian will make up match partners and then he and Paul DeLange (Sod Busters Captain) will put up teams for the matches. Quite a bit of strategy is worked into this.
