We had the second annual "Pink Lady" side event for the BTWB's on July 25th, 2011. We played the front nine with some perfect conditions. Congratulations to Jim Griffen and Dan Nadolney for winning tonight's event with 5 under. Phil Beaver and Dave Heinritz also shot 5 under, but Jim had a par on the #1 handicap hole (number 7) to edge them out. We played with Precept pink "Lady IQ Plus" balls tonight.

The first place prize was a couple sleeves each of Titleist DT Solo "Chaska" Log balls.

Unfortunately there was some mis-communication on the Ruhle/Werner team so Gary didn't have a partner to play with.

Information

  • Each 2 man team will get a Pink ball at the start.
  • The team decides who will start off with the pink ball. They'll play the 1st hole with the Pink ball instead of their own ball, writing down their score as they always would. (Also making note of which player started with it so I know how to accumulate the scores).
  • On the 2nd hole, the other player on the team will use the pink ball, writing down their score of what they shot.
  • On the 3rd hole, the first player will use the pink ball again. This alternating continues thru all remaining holes.
  • Yes, even putt it too (no whining)!
  • If you happen to lose the Pink ball, you're out of the "Pink Lady" event.
  • No gimmies, regardless of how close you are!
  • You are still playing your normal matches like it's any other week. This is just a side game. The only difference is that you are using the Pink ball for half of the holes. Note: Your card should look the same as any other week, except you will have made a note of which player started with the Pink ball.
  • We'll pay out the top team with the lowest net score. Ties will be broken based on the handicap holes. (i.e. starting with the lowest holes).
  • When I'm figuring out the net score, we will use your handicap to determine which holes you get pops on. Just keep in mind that this would be different from what you see on your match card, which only gives you pops on the difference between you and your match opponent's handicaps.
  • This is a 2 man event, so in the unlikely event that your partner doesn't show, you don't qualify for the event.
  • If you hit it out of bounds but still find the ball, take a penalty shot where you went out. If know for a fact that you hit it out of bounds hit another shot immediately. If you find it, you're still in the game.
  • Only those teams turning in the Pink ball at the end qualify for winning the event.
