Excellent, the 2012 season was kicked off tonight with a nice but windy night for golf! Welcome to the new fellas: Mike Brumley, Jeff Gregory, Pete Gervais, along with Lee Weier and Justin Gierach who came in off the sub list as players.
Congrats to Steve Werner for winning the long drive on #3 and Mike Woods for winning the long putt on #9.
Low Gross goes to Joe Viotto for the only sub-40 round of the night with his 39. No Low Net gets payed out this first week.
Question of the Day #1: What about if I'm a new guy, how does the handicap work? Answer: We'll back into your handicap based on your score tonight. You'll get 75% of your handicap based on how you shoot. Next week, you'll get full handicap going in. Then as the season progresses, the last (up to) 5 rolling scores are used for the calculation.
Question of the Day #2: What if I hit it in that ditch on #15 or #16? Answer: Free drop, no stroke penalty.
Question of the Day #3: Do we all play it down? Answer: Yep, its desirable to play it down, but if you need to do a Lift Clean and Place, it's legal in the fairway if you need it only thru the month of May. After May, no rolling or improving lie, we should all play it down.
